[[/preprinted left margin]] Mr. Johnson offered the following resolutions which were adopted: RESOLVED; That the temporary appointment of the Honorable R. Walton Moore as a member of the Executive Committee be approved and made permanent. RESOLVED; That the election by the Executive Committee of Honorable Henry White as Chairman be confirmed. RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO INCOME AND EXPENDITURE. Mr. White, as Chairman of the Executive Committee, submitted the following resolution which was adopted: RESOLVED; That the income of the Institution for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1927, be appropriated for the service of the Institution, to be expended by the Secretary with the advice of the Executive Committee, with full discretion on the part of the Secretary as to items. ANNUAL REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. Mr. White submitted in print the Annual Report of the Executive Committee, showing the financial condition of the Institution at the close of the fiscal year 1925, adding that copies had been sent to the Regents. On motion, the report was accepted. ANNUAL REPORT OF THE PERMANENT COMMITTEE. Mr. White, Chairman, then read the following report: December 10, 1925. To the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution. Gentlemen: The matters coming under the supervision of the Permanent Committee have been treated quite fully in the report of the Executive Committee, upon which the Board has just acted. There are a few items, however, that it might be of interest to bring before the Board somewhat more specifically:- [[underlined]]Solar Radiation Researches[[/underlined]]. - As stated previously, this work is under the direction of Dr. Charles G. Abbot, Assistant Secretary of the Institution and Director of the Astrophysical Observatory; and his report shows satisfactory progress at the stations located on Mt. Montezuma, Chile; Table Mountain, California; and at Washington, D. C. The operations were financed by an annual grant of $5,000 from the Hodgkins Fund of the Institution, and through [[initialed]] CDW [[/initialed]]
