INCREASE OF ENDOWMENT.

The Secretary reminded the Board that the subject of increasing the endowment of the Institution had been approved by it and referred to the Permanent Committee with power to act, in a resolution adopted January 5, 1925.

He then briefly described the steps which had been taken including the inauguration of the campaign by Messrs. Tamblyn & Brown, as already referred to in the Report of the Permanent Committee.
The main question now being considered was the selection of a suitable man as national chairman of the movement. He mentioned several names that had been brought to the Committee's attention, and a considerable discussion ensued, but no action was taken.

VACANCY IN THE BOARD.

The Secretary called attention to a vacancy that existed in its membership owing to the death of Judge Gray. Several names had been suggested, which he placed before the Board, and after discussion a form of resolution was drafted for use of the Congressional members containing the name of a person who would be very acceptable to the Board.

LABEL FOR LANGLEY AERODROME.

The Secretary reminded the Board that Mr. Orville Wright had opened a controversy within the last year in regard to the label on the Langley aerodrome on exhibition in the Museum, claiming that it was incorrect. The question had been investigated by experts who had reported that while the language of the label in question was essentially correct, it might be extended somewhat without detriment to its historical accuracy, and at the same time meet possible objections.

He exhibited a copy of the label amended.
