[[underlined]] "National Gallery of Art [[/underlined]]. The inadequacy of the present arrangements for the National Gallery of Art has long been apparent. From recent statements in the public press, it appears that it is proposed to set aside two squares on the north side of B Street for a National Gallery of Art building, and that it may be that a citizen will present to the nation a worthy building to be erected thereon".

[[underlined]] "Hachenberg Bequest [[/underlined]]. The Institution has received $5,000 in full consideration for its somewhat uncertain interest in the Hacheberg Estate".

[[underlined]] "Important activities of the National Museum since July 1, 1927 [[/underlined]]. Mr. Collins with Mr. Stewart returned in October from a summer's explorations on Nunivak Island, Alaska, where they obtained much information and new specimens relating to the Eskimo. Mr. Judd has worked again at the ancient city of Pueblo Bonito under the auspices of the National Geographic Society.
"Important collections of mammals, birds and reptiles have been received from Dr. Smith in Siam. Dr. W.L.Abbott has presented a collection of mammals made on islands near the west coast of Sumatra. 
"Dr. Foshag has returned from Mexico with collections of minerals, including a series of fine crystals of selenite which will form a pleasing addition to the mineral hall. A small fossil horse from Wyoming has been acquired by purchase. Dr. Bassler and Dr. Resser have returned from the field in the Rocky Mountain region with much data for use in completing the reports left in manuscript by the late Secretary Walcott.

"The Curtiss racing airplane which won the Schneider race in 1925 at a speed of approximately 250 miles an hour, has been transferred by the Army for the Museum collections.

"In November, Dr. Hrdlicka received the Huxley Medal granted by the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland for his work in anthropology. Dr. Stejneger was one of the official delegates from the United
