CHADWICK, DIRECTOR SYMPHONY HALL MARCH THE TWENTY-THIRD CONCERT BY THE CONSERVATORY ORCHESTRA AND ADVANCED STUDENTS GEORGE W. CHADWICK, CONDUCTOR [[end page]] ANTOINETTE SZUMOWSKA ADAMOWSKA Former pupils and other friends of Madame Szumowska were deeply saddened to learn of her death on August 18th, after a short illness, at the home of her daughter, in Rumson, New Jersey. She was the widow of Joseph Adamowski, for some years teacher of ensemble and violoncello at the Conservatory, and was herself an esteemed member of the pianoforte faculty during the same period. A relative of Ignace Paderewski, she is said to have been his only woman pupil She also studied at the conservatories in Warsaw and Paris, CONSERVATORY NEWS AND ALUMNI BULLETIN November, 1935 '23. A most interesting letter, filled with valuable suggestions, has been received from [[ink underlined]] Mrs. B. B. Talley (Manila Davis). [[/ink underlined]] Her new address is Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio. Mrs Talley has been interested in aviation for the past six years. It is to be hoped that space in some of the later numbers of this publication may permit the carrying out of some of her timely and helpful ideas with reference to a follow-up system for the alumni.
