April 22

Dear folks,

It will be good to take Dol, Sophy, Ted & Juan out. Such good Sundays you must be having now. When will Dol's finals come? I have my exam schedule at last:

May 10: Generals
May 31: English 256 (the hardest on the first day!)
June 4: History
June 8: Ec 1
June 14: English 233

Exam period ends June 15: So quite well spaced for a change.

Thanks for your words about futures, Mother -- but are there any jobs around which would give me that experience in teaching or tutoring? Please see what job opportunities there are.

Getting to know a very mature (age 26) gal: Barbara Sherman. She worked [[?5]] [[?6]] years in an Insurance Co before deciding her mind was drying up & coming here. Her mother runs tourist cabins. She is one of those people of iron determination & a lot of good-will; looks prematurely aged & school-mistress-like; is a freshman, she is penetrating everywhere in "society" by her assurance & skill in handling people. We went for a walk by the river last night, stopping in to see the Cunninghams (Zy played us things on the harpsichord): no work accomplished, too much pleasure these days -- but relaxation prepares best. Tonight shall see Monty Wooly in "The Man Who Came to Dinner" with Paul & Polly.

Love,
Doris
