March 9, 1949

Dear folks,

First, in answer to your questions -- The Mass we sing Sunday March 27 at 3:00 in Symphony Hall with [[?Kaussy]]: we sing till 6:00, then go out for supper. Upon our return at 8:00, the tenors without piano or orchestra to give them the pitch, begin; & we go on the other 3 hours. In the preceding week we will have 2 orchestra rehearsals; that will be hectic. Now we practice still only an hour Mon, Tue, & Thur nights .. but may step it up to 2 hours when another concert has been given by the people who sing there the hour after us. Finals won't start until the end of May. I have mid-terms only in History 1426, about the 18th of March. I have also a big oral report on the 22nd of March. The special exams -- generals -- will be just before reading period, or about the middle of May. Dr Igersheimer was the oculist. At least now I have a prescription for the future.

Your remark about the pants, Mother, was very funny. However, I could [[strikethrough]] po [[/strikethrough]] probably stand some.

Tonight there is another concert: of Mozart & a modern, Bartok, & others. Monday night Bill met an old friend outside of choral, and we went for a beer, meeting his roommates in the bar. So not home till 11:30, on. So much work to do!

Love,
Doris
