November 27

1978 - Monday - 20° at 6AM - Sun 6 56 - 4 31.
To 7:30 Mass - Snow started about 8AM changed my plans to go to greenhouse. Light snow all day. Wes put plow on tractor & brought it to garage - took in St. Francis and all bird baths and white chair. Vargas put young Tibor's car in our barn. Wes cleaned cellar - I cut evergreen branches to make wreath for Garden Club meeting - did a little work on Bargello Secretary chair pad.

1979-Tuesday - 42° at 6:30 - Fair beautiful day  Did house chores - transplanted Eileen's fern and one Spathyphyllum. Wes paid bills - had shop hour. Picked up willow debris at sheds. Cut off more daylily foliage. Played 18 holes at Silver Spring Club as guest of Billie Newell. We cut red maple behind spruce at veg. shed. Lots of brush to get rid of.

1980 - Thanksgiving Day in Williamsville. Slept poorly in Holiday Motel - noisy hot room. Overslept. To Joan & Hookers for breakfast at 8:15. Pam and children came before we left for St. Stephen's Church. Byzantine Rite - blood and thunder homily - good dinner - quiet afternoon - taught Julie Bargello - Pam and children left for visit with Tig’s sister - saw Barney Miller on TV.  At Motel 10pm. Light snow

1981 - Friday- 38° at 6AM- Clear -sunny. Mild day. After breakfast lift at 8:30 for Tarrytown. To Irvington with Eileen and Kelly to pick up apple tart at Cakerie - In 3 cars drove to Metropolitan Museum of Art (except Kelly who went shopping in White Plains) Saw Chinese Garden - Lehman Collection - American wing - had lunch there - back to Tarrytown for dinner - home at 9:30.  Successful day.

1982- Saturday - 32° at 6:30- Clear-windy-cold Lovely sunshine for the Solar.
Hung 2 small prints Eileen gave us in Powder Room and plant brackets over kitchen table. Made custard in microwave. Wes split wood - I harvested the lettuce- small- Too cold to grow so late.
Judsons put up their outdoor Christmas tree - lights on.
Picked up sticks - not too many down considering the high winds Friday night.

November 28

1978-Tuesday-30° at 7AM-Foggy-About 2" of snow terrace + grass covered-pretty pattern of dark and light are [[ponds]] Wes cleaned cellar shop. I finished wreath for Garden Club (won 3rd) At 11:30, we picked up Helen Ross and went to [[?]] - Louise McKloy hosted luncheon for 8 speaker Gloria Heath on knew of [[?]] from Outer Space? Wes enjoyed the sliders - Returned home at 5PM

1979 - Wednesday - 46° at 7AM (after breakfast) Fair - some clouds. Our white ducks swarmed on bank when Wes put out corn. Another beautiful day. Wes finished cutting up and carting to willow hole the maple debris. Put logs in old shed - transferred seasoned logs to new shed. I planted lily bulbs delivered by UPS last night. To Sylvia Barry - looked for dressy dress - no luck - bought new sweater and scarf. Cut of daylilies at barn wall - cut grass there. Cleaned in back of house! Porcelain bluebird delivered. Dug little spruce for Christmas.

1980 - Friday - in Williamsville. Cold - snowy. Breakfast at Joan & Hooker's with the Rinwalds, Skeet, Pam and the children. Pam etal left for visit with [?]'s sister. We all drove to Winter Garden in Niagara Falls had picnic lunch there - saw Geological Museum and Aquarium - dolphin and sea lion show - Home for dinner. About 1 inch of snow - flurries again at night. Said goodbye to Joan, Hooker & Rinwalds as we leave tomorrow.

1981 - Saturday - 38° at 6 AM. Beautiful sunrise - Holmders left for home at 7 AM. Racoon had taken the suet. Relaxed - caught up. Did wash - stripped beds - waxed floor in dining area. To Gerow's Garden Center for annual repellent - bought white birch [branches?]] and paperwhites. Had nice long nap. Wes had been in shop.

1982 - Sunday - 21° at 6:15 AM. Clear - Cold! Solar [?] 47°. Ate breakfast in den to keep solar door open. Cloudy and cold - rain at night.
To 8 o'clock Mass. Read papers - Wes balanced checkbook. Made more applesauce from "Williamsbury [?]". Left at 11:30 for Waccabuc Country Club - guests of Mark and Millicent for lunch and Mary Luke - Scotts - [?] there - home at 3:30 for nap & read "Smiley's People" - Wes reading "Clowns of God"  Saw one Evening Grosbeak.
