December 31

1978 - Sunday - 32º at 7 AM - Grey day -Light rain, off and on, all day - temperature 38º at night.
To 11 o'clock Mass - later Mass for us - organ instead of guitar at 9:30
Hobbies in afternoon
Squirrels broke small Yankee Droll feeder - kept ducks from corn tray, so Wes shot two.
We thank God for another good year in good health.

1979 - Monday - 22º at 7 AM - Slept in 
Sun 7:20 - 4:35 - Beautiful day - Colder
Hobbied and house chores.
To 12:10 Mass at St Peters - church looked lovely - sun is coming in stained glass windows - blue bows on wreaths - Shopped for corn at Agway and groceries at Bethel Market - found Maxwell House Coffee for $2.89 - it was $3.99 at Gran Central.  Quiet evening

1980 - Wednesday - 6º at 6:45 - Sun 7:30 - 4:37. Cloudy day - Some sun - high about 19º.
Picked up willow limbs from frozen pond - too cold to stay outdoors long. To 12:10 Mass at St Peters. Dropped Marcus enroute home. Erin Ghee and friend skated on pond. Opened bottle Moreau blanc Eileen gave us for Christmams - good. Nap. To Vargus at 9 o'clock for New Year's Eve party - Castles and [[Hausheers?]] there. Home at 3AM

1981 - Thursday - 18º at 6:30  Fair - Sun 7:20 - 4:38 Cloudy before noon - snow at night turning to rain. Wes split wood - Worked in shop. I put Lestoil on window sills to seal tile. To Tailor (Wes jacket not ready) drugstore to have form signed for drug refund - Basics - was crowded - 12:15 Mass at St Peters - Marcus & home for lunch and nap. To Billie Newell's at 7 o'clock for lamb stew dinner - Champagne - played bridge. Home at 11:45 when snowing - watched New Year come here.

1982 - Friday - 27º at 7AM - Cloudy. Sun 7:22 - 4:40  Last day to write this beautiful 5-year diary.
Gloomy damp day - high 33º.
I went to town - picked up framed botanical and needlepoint framed picture from Frame & Art - bought fence and small notebook to use as diary. Wes in shop and then he cleaned den, kitchen and shop. Lunch, nap, made casserole for tomorrow - Eileen coming up. To 4 o'clock Mass at St Peters - beautifully decorated - Quiet evening happy to be together in good health.
