VEINS OF THE HEAD, FACE AND NECK
The blood returning to the heart from the head, face and upper neck, flows on each side of the neck into two principal veins known as the EXTERNAL JUGULAR and the INTERIOR JUGULAR. The external Jugular veins are those large veins we notice near the surface of the skin on either side of the neck. The most important veins are located almost parallel with the arteries and take the same name as the arteries.

ARTERIES and VEINS OF THE ARM, AND HAND
The Brachial artery, with its lesser branches supplies the arm; dividing a short distance below the elbow into the Radial and Ulnar arteries which supply forearm. The Radial artery extends along the thumb side of the arm and supplies the

back of the hand. These two arteries turn around the wrist and form the VOLAR ARCHES from which radiate a network of branches that supply blood to the entire hand and fingers

The veins of the arm and hand are of two kinds; the deep veins and the superficial or surface veins. The deep veins are the smaller and bear the same name as the arteries, that is the Radial, Ulnar and Brachial veins. The superficial veins are larger and return a greater share of the blood toward the heart. The chief of these are the Cephalic Vein, running along the thumb side of the arm, the Basilic Vein running along the inner side of the forearm; and the Axillary vein, a continuation of the basilic in the upper arm.
