Fair.   I went to school.  Dolores wasn't at school today.  I got her homework after school for her.  She has a sore throat, tonsillitis.  I think if she had her tonsils out, her aches and pains and sore throats + tiredness would disappear and she would gain weight.  I think her teeth grew out the way they did because of her tonsils.  Patsy Lands, the girl living a couple of houses from Dolores, has a sister sick with mumps which Patsy expects to get as she has not had it!!! The girl (Virginia Airs) who lives next door to Dolores left to visit with her grandmother + mother since her father is going to Phillipines (she is about 8)

WEDNESDAY

Fair.  I went to school.   Dolores didn't go to school today.  We have our first exams on Friday - English with Miss Ball, 1st period, in 212 (I sit seat 3 in row 2).   It will be mostly on noun + adj. + adv. clauses + part on literature ("Treasure Island" + short stories we read and definitions.  They are going to ration sugar in a little while!!!
