February 7 Saturday
Fair. I got my free tube [[drawing of a tube]] Woodbury Face Cream today!!! Daddy threw the hawk's skin away - it would take too long to skin it. We captured its meat to eat, I went to Dolores & knitted [[?]] all afternoon - 10 rows. There I knitted 16 rows of white in the whole day. I went to Dolores's at 2:00 + came home at around 4:00 PM. I got a box of stuff to make 10 pretty valentines from Miss Schuber.

 1942 February 8 Sunday
blustery
 Fair + windy. We stayed home. [[strikethrough]] We [[/strikethrough]] I went to Dolores's in the afternoon + knitted 11 rows there. I knitted 29 rows [[strikethrough]]altogether  of white today. I went to Dolores's at 2:30 + stayed til 4:30 PM. My washcloth 3/4 or more done now. It has to be done by Thursday this week. [[strikethrough]][/strikethrough]] Daylight saving time (for decration of war) will start all along this coast tomorrrow!! When it says 6 o'clock tomorrow morning, it is really 5:00 by sun I get up at 5:00 now + go to bed at 7:00! In Mass they only had day light saving in summer but now have in winter too - it is dum - does not save light.
