March 3 Tuesday 1942
Rainy [[crossed-out]]+ cloudy [[/crossed-out]] I went to school. I made up the [[crossed-out]]parliament [[/crossed-out]] parliamentry law test + 2 spelling tests in Club period (I only go to study hall - so does Delores - study hall is with Miss Gee - red headed teacher with northern southern tone accent - southern sound, pronounces like north. She is Delore's home room teacher. She teaches algebra + wears her hair in a bun. I polished my gym shoes white (sneakers) Delores mother took us to school + from school in her car. + Submarines along our coast sank another ship U.S. Destroyer - Jacob Jones near New Jersey 11 out of about 135-145 [[crossed-out] {?} [[/crossed-out]] were [[crossed-out]] rescured [[/crossed-out]] rescued. There was a blackout tonight from 8:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M.

Movie ++ good
March 4 Wednesday 
Fair. I went to school. I went to the store after school. I found honey[[?]] there at 59 [[cents]] a can (5lbs)!!!!!! ([[crossed-out]]? [[/crossed-out]] Super A+P)!!! Where Dad used to buy it, it was 50 [[cents]] per 5lbs!!! It saves 31 [[cents]] to buy it at the A+P. The honey [[?]] is good, but the can is different. The old can was [[crossed-out]] would [[/crossed-out]] round (buckets I use for fishing) wiht a top + handle. These cans are [[crossed-out]] ? [[/crossed-out]] square with a spout but a bargain. We all went to the movies at the Arlington (on Columbie [[?]] Pi [[?]] near A+P School) + saw Charlie McCarthy movie (Charlie is Mr Bergan's talking dummy - Bergan is a [[crossed-out]] ventrili [[/crossed-out]] ventriloquist!!!! It was funny + good, I got there at 7:15 [[?]] - got home at about 9:15
