July 15
Wednesday

Fair + cooler. We went with
Daddy early + waited for
train three to Boston (from
10:00 to 6:55.)Then we rode
all day. = the train had many
stops & was an hour late -
we got in at 8:00. Then we took 3 subway trains in Boston until we got to Mattapan Sq. where we had pie + milk (9:00) + caught Stoughton bus at 9:30 + got home around 10:00 ( fare - bus - 20¢ each + subway - 10¢ each for whole 3 rides!) Then we took a taxi home!!! Boy, am I glad to get there. I had 1 suitcase, Bun Bun in cage + Mother had
1 suitcase (both were terribly
heavy - [[arrow above]] it hurt my hands a lot) + a big folder with painting canvasses in it. We went
right to bed ( upstairs). Grandma

$ - OWE MABEL NICKEL

There aren't many blueberries yet.

Fair + cool. In the morning I
went down to the depot + collected
my bike - in O.K. condition, got
groceries, went home, got bell
+ valve caps put on, saw Jackie
McGarvey [[crossed out]] McCarthy[[/crossed out ]] + rode to the station to get our tires filled + came home + went to Mabel's, bringing her present - compact + comb to her. I found an extra comb (white in red case) in her box! My comb is back home, so I took + kept this one for it matches my compact. We rode about 5 miles (part way to Brocton Road + back + I ate lunch and she went home. After lunch and German we went to the Brocton Pond to look around (it is 4 miles there) (Before that we shopped + I got a screw (basket) [[for my??]] bike)
I owe Mabel a nickel for an icecream I got.
→
[[left margin]]
The icecream (Plum Royale) was delicious - Mabel dropped hers & got another.
[[/ left margin]]
The pond ride was downhill, going + uphill back + we became quite tired - her racer is easier than my bike.
