DESKAIDE * THE SILENT SECRETARY * 1942

Friday

We get a 10¢ ice cream cup every day. 
Fair. In the morning I ate, caught
the cat a fish & another (2 spot) & lay around til lunch. After lunch all afternoon I fished & crabbed - met 3 girls a little younger than I & a boy about my age & we fooled about wharf - I caught 11 more fish including 1 tiny white perch,  2 larger ones & rest spot - one for cat's supper.I also got 1 big crab (male - only allowed to get males. I almost caught several others - caught 1 female but threw back) which I threw back in the evening. The cat goes out often now but still not near beach. The bunny ("Snooks") yesterday got out & was scared all day (changed cage) but is getting better now - eats from your fingers!!!! My cold is gone now. Went for a short dip in the afternoon - water is muddy - gets the white on my bathing suit brown. Some

today - collected a few but [[?]] haven't

Dear Diary (and others concerned): Fair.
In the morning went out on the pier to fish & crab. A boy (15 - Birthday July 25 - name - Jimmy Stimmins - yellowhaired beautiful dark lashes & brows, 5'8 1/2", cute.) came out on the wharf & we talked &+ fished (can drive, lives in Washington on [[blank]]) He went & got a nice portable Emerson radio & we listened to it. After lunch we met again on the pier & fished all afternoon All total yield - 16 fish (all spot but 1 large white perch - he caught 4 of) & 2 crabs which he took home to eat. After supper I went out on the pier & there he was rowing a boat with 4 girls in it Grr. Well goodbye Diary (and all others concerned)
