When Milton sold "Paradise Lost" for £5, he cannot have thought that his years of work were very well paid. But "Paradise Lost" was no less one of the great masterpieces of world literature. The artistic side and the money side are two different things and we cannot make them otherwise. I imagine that this was so way back there in the days of those old Egyptians that we love so much.
