Logan of Pittsburg Pa has not yet been paid, that Col Edie, says that the money will have to be expended (at Sumter) under direction of Maj. E.L. Deane D.O. and that before the condition precedent viz: the conveyence of certain lands for the use of freedmen can be complied with, the appropriation for school purposes in S.C. of $25000.00 will have been exhausted. |
