still worse over developments in the Currie business at the bank. It is terribly disappointing and shakes ones confidence in banking investments to say nothing of other and higher hopes. Is the bank hoodoed? It certainly has received a continuous series of blows peculiar, I believe, in the history of Michigan banking. I am sorry that the Directors had to go down in their pockets, but I can think of no other way by which the evil could be overcome.

Your action and that of Boynton  and Stevens, in my behalf, has been much more than thorough and wise- it shows friendship and regard of the highest order. I cannot suggest even an

additional step- I know that every thing desirable and very much more is being done. The choice of lawyers in New York etc. etc. is perfect. The final outcome whatever it may be will be to entirely satisfactory, and I hope that in whatever way Cam may ask for or suggest methods of dealing with my account that you and Boynton and Stevens will cooperate to the extent possible. By this I mean, that I do not want any action taken in my behalf that will add to Camerons horrible distress either physically or mentally. I would much prefer to loose the entire sum than be the means of adding to his load. I believe him absolutely honest, notwithstanding he surely lacks that power of control
