The Coburg Hotel,
Carlos Place,
Grosvenor Square.W.

My dear Colonel Hecker,

Your full and interesting letter of June 3rd reached me a few days ago and gave me pleasure.

I am glad that the Peoples State Bank cleaned up the 40 L.S. and M.S.N.Y.C. Bonds.

I am about to complete some purchases here which if accomplished, will require about 15,000.00 in addition to the 15,000 to be sent Tabbagh Bros. July 1st. I may on my return to Paris for one day --- about the 28th inst. close for some other objects valued at about 5,000.

So, to meet these payments, in part, I wish that you would sell say 25 Bonds of the lot rec'd from the bank. There will be considerable dividend money due July 1st, but not enough to pay everything that I am likely to get. One of the Objects is a superb Whistler from Miss Birnie-Philip!!

Of course, I am most glad of the turn in affairs in Cam's favor --- and am hoping that 'ere long he can make a fresh start for himself.

It is good to feel that real progress is being made withe the McMillan Memorial --- the delay however, has helped the designers to produce a much finer design. Should you deem it wise to double your subscription for the good cause I hope you will kindly double mine also.

I trust that the storm did not cause a heavy loss to the Alger-Sullivan Co.

Thanks for the message from Mr. Quirk --- It's a compliment worth while to be remembered by a man of his years and accomplishment.

I am feeling much better again and am expecting to be fully up to standard before the end of next week. Dr. Mann and his wife are here and we are to dine together tonight.

Since leaving Paris, some things in my line have arrived there from China and I am expecting to finish here on the 26th inst., Go to Paris on the 27th,
Go to Mons on the 29th then to Brussells, Ghent, Bruges,
