I have seen lately all of the European public collections of Byzantine gold and today everything in the Egyptian National Museum, I am more than surprised at the poor quality and limited quantity existing. There is a great opening now for another American publication and Nahman has given me photos of the pieces I did not buy. No one not even Nahman, has photos of mine.

But my hands are overfull now with printing!

Nahman has an ancient wood head a superb Egyptian pottery figure and tile and two bowls which I should buy also two great stone Hawke which would would nobly defend my little group of Egyptian art when permanently housed but his prices frighten me. I must think and make haste slowly.
