I fancy that you are out of town, possibly in Baltimore, but know you will wire me as soon as you can. I thought it unwise to wait for a telegram from you, because of the fact that at the time of our last interview you stated you could go to Washington practically any time.

Within a day or two I shall hear further from the President, and as soon as a date is fixed by him for receiving you, will hustle off to New York, and we will go to Washington together.
