Dear Mrs. Valentine:-
Your letter of February 5th, is received, and fully noted.

I regret, that I cannot accommodate you by purchasing the mortgage mentioned, for the reason, that I hold no securities of such a nature, and I do not wish to burden myself with looking after such transactions. You can, however, doubtless sell the mortgage to one of the several Savings Banks of this city, who have departments especially organized for looking after just this kind of investments.

I am very sorry, to learn of your recent illness, and I hope, that ere long, all will with you and your family.
With kind regards, I remain,
Yours sincerely,
Charles L Freer

Mrs. E. Valentine,
