Dear Mr. Ushikubo, I have pleasure in enclosing herewith, check to your order, for $2,215.00 in settlement of your invoice of February 8th. it has taken me some time to make careful examination of the articles covered by this invoice, but I have finally determined to keep the entire lot. It will interest you, I am sure, to know my final judgement of the two pieces which I discussed with yourself and Mr. Yamanaka in New York, namely: Your NL.244 - the Water Bottle, with short curved spout. This piece Mr. Yamanka felt was Corean; I am now quite well satisfied that is is not Corean, but that it was made at Hagi in the Province of Nagato by Corean potters. I also believe the same is true of your NL.115 the large white jar, with beautiful glaze. I have compared this piece with over twenty important specimens of Nagato pottery in my collection; I have also examined it with nearly one hundred and fifty specimens of Corean pottery in my collection, and I am thoroughly satisfied that the jar was made in Nagato.
