Aug. 27, 1894.

Messrs. Frederick Keppel & Co.,
20 East 16th St.,
New York.

Gentlemen:

I must apologize for having kept so long your impression of Whistler’s “Unsafe Tenement”, which you will remember I asked Mr. Keppel personally to send out to me on approval. The print came during my absence and was unfortunately misplaced by one of my servants. I have compared the print with the impression from the Giacomelli collection purchased from you some time ago and find the latter finer than the one returned to you by express to-day.

Thanking you for your kindness in the matter, I remain,

Yours very truly,
C. L. Freer
