Dear Mr. Matsuki,

I have your letter of July 23 and am glad to know you have decided to go to London to look after the Hota Lacquer and trust that you will meet with every success in a business way and that you will also have a good time socially. I am of source delighted to give you a card of introduction to Mr. Whistler and you will find the same inclosed herewith. I am afraid it will be a little late to catch him in London, and still he may be there. If you succeed in meeting him, you will I am sure enjoy his acquaintance and doubtless see some very remarkable art.

Of course you know there is much to see in both London and Paris. Is the former place, the National Gallery, British Museum, and the South Kensington Museum will probably interest you most. Paris of course offers much more in the field of the Fine Arts, and you will not forget the Luxembourg, in which you will find such important things as Whistler's portrait of his mother, and in the Louvre you will find treasures without number. I would advise that you give all of the time you possibly can to the study of the contents of these two great institutions. Paris overflows with amusement and I am sure with your taste you will find no difficulty in passing all of the time given to Paris most delightfully no matter where you may be.

Your telegram came this morning stating that you wrote me yesterday and the day before, but the letters are not yet at hand and I am dictating this letter this morning because I have the time, and tomorrow I may be east again, so if you do not hear from me until
