Gentlemen-

I received your message and regret that I shall not have an opportunity to see Mr. Yamanaka before he leaves for Japan.

I sent by express to-day two Kakemono: one a painting of peonies by Ryurikio, the other a painting of a plum blossom by Korin; both of which I hope Mr. Yamanaka will kindly have mounted in proper style while he is in Japan, and bring them back to me.

The creases which looked so badly in the Tanyu kakemono, than I bought it, seem to have largely disappeared, therefore, I thought I would wait another year and than it may not be necessary to re-mount it.

I hope Mr. Yamanaka will have a very pleasant journey and safe return to America. Ask him to give my kindest rememberance [[remembrance]] to his father and also to Mr. Kita of Kioto.

Yours faithfully,
Charles L Freer
