Dec. 13/97.

My dear Matsuki:

I have been absent from home for two weeks, during which time I have been extremely busy and far from well, hence the delay in replying to your kind note of the 5th inst.

I thank you and your brother both greatly for the kindness to me and hope some time to have the opportunity to reciprocate. Whatever action your brother takes in the matter will be entirely satisfactory to all parties interested.

Yes, I think I can go to Boston next month after your things are ready to be seen. If you will let me know when they have passed the customs and are ready for inspection, I will run over and spend a day with you. I presume the holiday trade keeps you very busy. I hope however you are not over-working and that you will not tire yourself out before starting for Japan. I wish I could go with you but that is impossible this time.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
