January 8th, 1898.

Messrs. John Harvey and Sons,
Denmark Street, Bristol, England.

Gentlemen:-

Absence from home has prevented earlier reply to your several letters and has also delayed, I regret to say, and earlier remittance. I now take pleasure in handing you enclosed herewith draft on London for 91 pounds, 17 shillings and 10 pence, covering your invoice of December 12 receipt of which kindly acknowledge at your early convenience.

The fourteen cases of wine came during my absence and I have not yet had time to examine them. Packages are in perfect order and I have no doubt whatever that the contents will prove entirely satisfactory.

In your favor of December 7th you mentioned several bins of Port of special quality. I wish you would forward at your convenience the following:

Port.
2 dozen bin G.P., vintage 1858, at 147 shillings per doz.
2 dozen bin 251, vintage 1878 at 105 shillings per doz.

Champagne.
4 cases 93 Dagonet, "Cuvee Exceptionelle" vintage 1892, at 82 shillings per case.
2 cases 60 A. Giesler, Brut 1884, at 168 shillings per case.

Kindly ship them to me in bond to Detroit, as heretofore, [?] the Merchants Despatch Transportation Company, at New York.

Thanking you for your courtesy and wishing you the compliments of the New Year, I remain,

Yours faithfully,
Charles L Freer
