487 (X) March 22/98. Hon. Charles de Kay, 413 West 23rd St., New York. My dear Sir: Your postal card of the 11th inst. would have had earlier reply but for my illness. I would be very glad indeed to send you a list of the names of gentlemen in the "Lake Region" whom I believe you would consider eligible as founders of the proposed National Art Club, but the number known to me is so small I hesitate -- in fact, I imagine that practically all the names which occur to me are already known to you. Notwithstanding this, I will mention a few who I believe are of the right sort, and if they are already on your list, you have only to disregard the following portion of my letter. Russel A. Alger, ) James McMillan, ) R. H. Ferry, ) Detroit, Mich. Frank J. Hecker, ) Frederick K. Stearns,) John M. Donaldson, ) A. A. Page, ) Ralph King, ) Cleveland, O. James Parmelee,) James W. Ellsworth,) Chicago, Ill. F. W. [[Gookin?]], )
