490 (471) March 23/98. My dear Matsuki: I have your letter of 16th inst. and note that it is your intention to start for Japan before May 1. I am glad of this as it ensures me the opportunity of getting to Boston before you go, and I also hope to receive a visit from you in the mean time. At the present time it is impossible for me to set a day for going to Boston, but I think it will be probably between April 10 and 15. I will let you know later definitely concerning the exact day. I doubt not that the pottery, screens, and kakemono mentioned by you are all very beautiful, and I am really anxious to have the pleasure of seeing them. I am regaining my health and hope to be all right again before long. Beginning with April 1, some important matters here will keep me at home for a few days, and as soon as they are out of the way I will then be ready to go to Boston. With best wishes, Yours very truly, Charles L Freer Mr. Bunkio Matsuki 330 Boylston St., Boston, Mass.
