512 (504) April 19th, 1898. Mr. T.W. Dewing, 107 East 27th Street, New York City. Dear Dewing:- I have your note of the 18th instant and want you to feel that I am willing to have the Blue Portrait go to the St. Botolph Club Exhibition because I believe it will add to your reputation to have this picture exhibited in Boston, so I hope you will send it. I could wish most heartily however that it was to be shown at some other place. You found out eventually that I am dead right on that St. Botolph crowd, but you must not let my sentiments concerning the Club interfere at all with exhibiting the Blue Portrait in Boston. I am laid up at home again with rheumatism but hope to be out in a few days. Yours sincerely, Charles L. Freer
