Dear Mr. Kingsley:-

I have your letter of 18th inst. inclosing bill for printing and have had the amount remitted direct to Mr. Bauer to-day.

A recent note from Tryon says that the last proofs received are very much better than the first ones and of this I am very glad. The undertaking was a most difficult one and I believe you have carried your work as far as it is possible to do. In my opinion, no reproduction of the "Rising Moon" will ever translate some of its more subtle qualities. I shall be glad to see the later proofs and presume they will come in due time. I feel greatly obligated to you for your courage and long continued efforts with this engraving.

With best wishes, I remain,

Yours faithfully,
Charles L. Freer

Mr. Elbridge Kingsley,
Hadley, Mass.
