My dear Mr. Morse:
I have your good letter written at Canfield on the 15th last, and am quite disappointed to know that I am not to see yourself and family here before you return to Evanston. Of course a bachelor never quite understands the matters mentioned and has only to accept such excuses as final. I shall however only count the visit deferred. The summer months in Detroit are usually pleasant and after the necessary preliminaries shall have been attended to and domestic affairs at Evanston settled. I shall hope to see both yourself and Mrs. Morse here. You may rest assured also that I shall be delighted to run over to Evanston some time when it will be convenient for you and have a day with your treasures.
With kindest regards,
Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer

Mr. Charles J. Morse,
