100 acres of ground owned by the Colonel in this city, which he purposes to treat in a broad way, intending eventually to dispose of it for choice residence purposes. As yet only a mere beginning has been made as regards the planting, but the general designs are nearly complete, and I really believe that, if Col. Hecker adopts them, he will establish one of the best designed and most artistically considered resident tracts thus far started in this country.
Should you at any time care to meet either Mr. Eyre or Mr. Platt, I will be very happy indeed to send you a card of introduction. When you are next in Detroit, if you will call upon me, I will be glad to show you through my little house.
