Aug. 2/98.

Mr. W.H. Ostrander,
Indian River, Mich.

Dear Sir:

Replying to your note of July 26; I do not know anything about the value of minerals and can scarcely tell one kind from another. Furthermore, I am without the slightest desire to interest myself in mining ventures. Because of these facts I doubt very much if I could be of any assistance to you in the matter named. In the event of your finding interesting specimens, I would advise you to communicate with some one skilled in such matters. By doing so you would avoid unnecessary expense and loss of time.

Wishing you every success, I remain,
Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
