Aug. 2/98.

My dear Mr. Bagahawe;

Your letter written last month was duly received but before I had an opportunity to reply you had sailed for home. Later I was very much pleased to receive the photograph of yourself which you so kindly sent.

In response to your desire for one of my photographs and also one of Col. Hecker, I must say that the Colonel is so busily employed with his present governmental work I hesitate to ask him to sit for a a photograph, and I know that he has none on hand recently taken. Some of myself are in course of finish, and when done I will be pleased indeed to mail one to your home address.

I trust that you reached England safely and that your homeward voyage proved pleasant. The disagreeable duties you had to perform while last here I trust will never be repeated. It certainly seems that with the fine business prospects ahead your American company should prosper and run smoothly in all departments.

I hope that you will be with us again during the late autumn, and with best wishes, I remain.

Yours very sincerely,
Charles L Freer

General Bagshawe, Esq.,
The Cedara, Headingly,
