I feel so undecided which to send, and uncertain which you would like best that I have compromised the difficulty by sending both--You can select which you like best and return the other, which I dare say I can very soon find a use for.
Please to be careful that the pictures be not handled much until the paint is perfectly hard as the weather has been so unfavorable that they were not completed until last week, and although dry on the surface they are not thoroughly-- I must ask the favour, also, to be allowed to see a proof before the plate is put to press--
