Until lately when I became disgusted with slow progress I could take a clean canvass and under the impulse paint a satisfactory picture, but I find that this may well answer no longer as it is when the first sense of dissatisfaction comes that I should stop. I have [[strikethrough]] consiquently [[/strikethrough]] in consiquence of this habit accumulated a great number of unfinished work most of the smaller ones of which can be finished in a morning as soon as I can habituate myself to the new method of habit which I feel satisfied is to be a success. However you will see shortly from what I send.
     You have not informed me yet whether I shall be obliged to enter into competition. Please see about it as all rests upon that whether I send or not. Also let me know when the pictures will have to be on hand. How will it be about the jury of selection? Finding myself under the necessity of limiting my working hours
