Dear [Strig]

When Morse was at Liverpool and on board the ship he sailed in, he received a letter from you directed to us both & enclosing one of introduection to Mr. Otis's family. -- --- He intended forwarding them to me by the pilot, who however left the ship unknown to him, in consequence of which I knew nothing of your letter until Morse wrote me from Boston. I should however have called on Mr Otis had I been able to find where he lived. -- By Mr [Delasliner] had letters I find you were in Philadelphia where I hope your now reside unless there is a likelihood of our having you here again. -- and from what I remember of you I should not be in the least surprized to see you walk into my room one of these days. So you need not expect to astonish us. you will only delight
