From Windsor country all level, flat, muddy.
Lots of good timber, stumpy fields, fences, all rail. Much like Michegan, but flatter & more timber & smaller fields.
All long wooled sheep.
Heavy clay soil.
Too flat & damp to be healthy.
Foggy & rainy -
East of St. Thomas, higher, more rolling & better farms -
Some evergreen beings on east side of St. Thomas seems to be a cedar or spruce or hemlock - is common

Crossed the canal at [[underlined]] Welland [[/underlined]]
Rained all day. foggy & dark.
Reached [[underlined]] Niagara Falls [[/underlined]] a few minutes before dark. Had a good view of them from the Canada side. Looked down on them from high bank above. Crossed Suspension Bridge below falls & over rapids
Dark when we came into Niagara Falls Village at east end of falls.
Went to Western Hotel, a good $2.00 house
