Went to town in the morning to finish my shopping. I never did succeed in finding a piece of navy blue crepe so I had to take a washable material called Tobralco. I took it up to Mrs Gomes (or "z").
In the afternoon I paid my first visit to the library. My subscription is 1/ a month. They seem to have a good many books, but they are very poorly arranged and they do not seem to be cataloged.

We tried to get up a game of bridge, but no hope. About 7 we started for home, and on the way met Mrs Christian.
Before we went to the club we paid a visit to the cathedral. It is a very nice building. We couldn't see the stained glass windows as the hurricane shutters are shut over them.

Got some mail this morning. Didn't do much except write a little more on my letter to Mother.
In the afternoon Mrs Mason and I went out to tea at Miller's which is on Parham Harbor. The estate is owned by a Mrs Comacho and her sister Miss Gomez lives with her. From the estate house we can see Long island and Guiana island very plainly. Millers is a good example
