[[preprinted]] 30 [[/preprinted]] [[margin]] Antigua #20. Sat Aug 15 [[/margin]] In the morning I went down to market with Mrs Mason. Just as we were leaving the house the postman handed me a card -- notice of a parcel for us -- so I went in the[[strikethrough]] re [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] P.O. [[/insertion]] to get whatever it was. I had hopes that it might be Dicks glasses as he had started inquiries about them. However it turned out to be nothing more than magazines and [[strikethrough]] first [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] second [[/insertion]] class mail. The glasses, it seems, were sent to Guadeloupe. I wonder if we will ever get them back. After the P.O. we went to Brysons and had some ice cream -- 3d a scoop. They never sell it in bulk and how much you pay for a pt. or qt. depends on how many scoop-fuls it is! I also bought Dick some ovaltine 4/ large size. Soon after we came home -- in fact by noon-- it was pouring rain. I spent most of the afternoon sewing. [[margin]] Sunday August 16 [[/margin]] I wanted to go swimming, but it looked very much like rain, so I put it off. Later I was glad I had, as it simply poured. After lunch the family insisted that I play the piano -- and as the Dean said "It served them jolly well right" -- They'll know better than to ask me next [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] 31 [[/preprinted]] time. A person who has played as little as I have in the last 2 years! Came up stairs and gave myself a facial. My skin is getting in a terrible condition! I've read about crepy neck but now I have the pleasure of seeing one -- not so hot. Jikes paid us a visit for tea, but when he began to tear the furniture apart he was removed from the dining room. [[margin]] Monday Aug 17 [[/margin]] Addie and I went to town to see when the mails close and to do some buying. I got Dick I nice suit of pajamas for 5/. We went to Lillian's shop & looked at all her acquisitions. When we got home Mrs Mason asked me if I was willing to help her clean out her desk drawers which were infested with ptinus beetles. It was great sport and I collected both beetles, and stamps which were on envelopes etc. It took us a good part of the morning. Last night a queer thing happened. Addie heard Miss Rey groaning and moving around in her bed, and thinking Miss Rey was ill she called Mrs Mason. When Mrs Mason went in the room, Miss [[end page]]
