In morning I went to town & sent Wilfred 2/ also to the library where I had Arch Bishop Hudson spill some ink on my finger. He is a nice old fellow -- not at all ecclesiastical looking. I got two books, "The Shape of Things to Come" by H. G. Wells, and a book on Mayan civilization.
I also paid Mrs. Gomes 11/3 for the dressmaking she did for me. Got some white material for Mrs Mason to have a dress made. When I got home I paid Mrs Mason for the stamps we got from her 10/6. For lunch we had Campbell's baked beans. A luxury here -- 1/3 a tin[[strikethrough]] e [[/strikethrough]].
Had a headache and tried to sleep it off, but not much success. Had it all afternoon. Felt slightly better [[strikethrough]] aft [[/strikethrough]] before tea but a little worse after tea. After my bath I sat out on the downstairs veranda & felt much better after.
After dinner I was once again asked to play the piano and I did my worst.

In the morning it rained. About 10 o'clock Mr Wm Forrest called. He said that the Arch-Bishop had told him we were here, and that we might be interested in his collection of fossils. He asked us to call tomorrow afternoon. Later on in the morning we got

some mail which had been forwarded form St. Kitts.
I also bought some avocados 2d. However it rather upset my stomach to eat it at eleven o'clock in the morning.
I rested and read most of the afternoon and evening.

Did some mending in the morning. Then I worked on shells and I have the box of corkscrews almost ready to give to Mrs Mason. They look very nice. The Lady boat was in from the north to-day, but we hardly expect any mail.
After tea we went over to see Mr Forrest. When we first went in he introduced us to Mrs Lidiott. Her son Bill died very suddenly a few weeks ago of a heart attack -- he was her step son -- and her husband died just before we arrived here.
Mr Forrest has some specimens of what he thinks are a type of worm -- some zoologists have told him they are mam^[[insertion]] m [[/insertion]]al hairs -- which he has found in fossil wood, shells, and in unconsolidated material. He has worked out a life picture on slides and in photographs of these "beasts". He is absolutely convinced that these "beasts" dug tunnels
