[[preprinted]] 70 [[/preprinted]] St Kitts #4 [[margin]] Sat Oct 3. [[/margin]] I sat in the sun most of the morning. My tummy is certainly acting up. [[strikethrough]] I felt [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] I feel [[/insertion]] awful whenever I [[strikethrough]] stood [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] stand [[/insertion]] up, but seem [[strikethrough]] ed [[/strikethrough]] o.k. when I sit down or lie down. Net result, I spent most of the day in bed, and ate very little. Dick and I did stamps in the afternoon. (Verbs!!!) We sat on the porch this evening and we could see the lights of the Lady boat where she was anchored in Nevis. We are impatiently waiting for mail as it has been an age since we had magazines etc. [[underlined]] Sunday October 4 [[/underlined]] A lovely sunny morning, so I was busy unpacking, and airing clothes. There are 3 things which we cant seem to find - Dick's knife, the pins, and his small screwdriver. The Furness Co A Steamer came in this afternoon, so we hope she brought mail. I forgot to say that last night I met a Mr Drayton, who came by to take Mr Hazlett - who lives here - to a dance. Mr H. had forgotten about the dance and had already accepted another invitation. [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] 71 [[/preprinted]] This evening Miss Goodall, Mrs MacDonald's sister, came over. She is very nice and we had a chat. She will play bridge with us one of these evenings. So far I haven't mentioned Mrs M's two children Robert age 9 and Marian age 11. They are both quite the kids. Marian loves to sit and talk and she says some amusing things such as "there are two places I'd like to go in the U.S. Honolulu & Ohio." When asked wh[[strikethrough]] e [[/strikethrough]]y she said, "oh, they sound nice." Then I started to tell her that Honolulu was not in the U.S. - which she already knew - but she didn't know how to show that it was a possession of the U.S. unless she said that it was in the U.S. - as one would say "In the British Empire." [[margin]] Monday Oct 5. [[/margin]] Got my laundry ready after [[strikethrough]] dinner [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] breakfast [[/insertion]] and saw Dick off to a flying start. Yesterday I had the first warm bath I've had ashore since I came to the West Indies. It wasn't a big bath of hot water but it was very refreshing. Another star for this hotel.
