[[preprinted]] 74 [[/preprinted]] St Kitts #8 When we came home we got Laura to give us a can so we could get some sea water for some little animals Dick found on the beach this morning. They are a type of barnacle which seem to have attached themselves to worm tubes. We will see if we can keep them alive. In the evening I played bridge with Mrs Clegg, Mrs Goodall and Mrs. They do not play for money - thank's! They [[underlined]] are [[/underlined]] poor bidders tho', and know little (or less than I) of the conventions. However, it is better than nothing. [[margin]] Wed Oct 7. [[margin]] Right after breakfast we went to the P.O. where we received a big parcel of mail. It had been sent to Antigua and was forwarded here. The rest of the day we did little or nothing but read our mail. [[margin]] Thurs. Oct 8. [[/margin]] Dick and I went to Frigate Bay this morning. I was looking for shells - but didn't find many good ones. Dick was going to do some collecting, but it started to rain soon after we got there so that was spoiled. There were two showers while we were there. I stayed under a tree during one and went into the bathing hut for the other. [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] 75 [[/preprinted]] As it continued to look threatening, we came home. We have decided to call Frigate Bay "Turret Beach" as we found so many nice turret shells there. In the evening we played bridge here at the hotel. Mrs Goodall - Mrs Mac's mother -- another Mrs Goodall who is a cousin & Miss Agnes Goodall all were here. [[margin]] Friday Oct 9. [[/margin]] This morning just as we decided to go out it poured rain, but it was dry in 10 minutes after [[strikethrough]] we went out [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] the rain ceased. [[/insertion]] I forgot to mention that the St. Dominque of the French Line was in [[strikethrough]] this [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] yesterday [[/insertion]] afternoon, but it stayed such a short time that I didn't get a chance to go out & see Mrs Rey. She was really expected to come in on the 9th - not the 8th. To go back to this morning we took the trip around the island, by way of Brimstone Hill, Dieppe Bay etc. From the north west side of the island we could see Saba & St Eustatius (both Dutch Islands) It was a lovely trip altho a little tiring. We stopped at the [[strikethrough]] bea [[/strikethrough]] beach near Caines Estate and were going to do some collecting in dung, but rain spoiled
