I am not sure of - has been coming in for tea. She comes in early & lies on the bed so as to be sure not to miss anything. The cat seems fond of milk and toast.
In the evening we sat on the porch & talked. Dick & Mr Hazlett had quite a chat about Jamaica.

Another nice clear day, but hot, & I got a touch of hay fever. I wrote a letter to Barclays in Dominica and spent the rest of the morning doing nothing much of anything. There are always so many odds & ends of things.
In the afternoon I took to my bed as I was rather miserable with all the sniffs & snuffles. Dick read to me. I had forgotten how much a cold bath relieves the feverish condition, but remembered after I had taken my bath. Vicks is also good and a cloth the soaked in bay rum & rubbed across the forehead & face is very cooling. By 6 I was beginning to feel human once again & I went out on the gallery to enjoy the breeze but was driven in by a whiskery ^ [[insertion]] old [[/insertion]] gent with a vile

smelling pipe. Just ^ [[insertion]] then [[/insertion]] Dick came home from an afternoon's exploratory ride.
There is an imbecile boy here in town who is very taken with Dicks motor. The other night he almost frightened Marion as he was sitting down in back of it mumbling to himself. When Mrs Mac told him to go he said "Tell them ^ [[insertion]] I said [[/insertion]] not to take that bicycle out again". Then this [[strikethrough]] yesterda [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] morning [[/insertion]] he was opening one of the bags on it and when Dick yelled at him he remarked "If it were in my garage it would be different".
After dinner we had 3 calypso singers gather around the door. They gave a pretty good entertainment. They may sing a tune of a song but they make up their own words, and sometimes they make up both- as "Mamma dont (doan like no gin, all she like is handy brandy", and "I doan drink, no brandy whisky or wine". "Juanita" was most amusing with words like woice (voice) Jew-on-eeta etc.
The crowd which gathered was also amusing to watch. Several young girls were dancing and one older one old crone
