It is not at all uncommon to see women walking along making fish nets as they go, and I've even seen a crippled beggar so engaged. We went to the movie "The Apollo" to see a Gaumont picture entitled "Son of Kong". I rather enjoyed it altho' it was a little crude. [[margin]] Sat. Oct 17. In the afternoon, after tea, a bunch of us went up to call on Mrs ^ [[insertion]] Allen(?) [[/insertion]] Thurston (Miss Annie). She was most anxious to show Dick her house, which is one of the most up to date on the island - Dick has a description of it in his book - but even then it is a far cry from what [[underlined]] can [[/underlined]] be done.
