been in the West Indies some time, they have not become West Indians. When I first met him I thought he was an American.
On the whole I liked St Kitts very much. The people are very friendly and hospitable and we had the best cake - at the hotel - that we've had in the West Indies.
We sailed about 10 o'clock.

Arrived on "Nerissa" during bkfst. Went to Merwin's - waited - Mr Miles Merwin took us to his sister-in-law Miss Fleming. She took us for $100 a month - small room - hard bed - good food -generous with car.
Met Miss Betty Curry, 13, and mother Mrs Curry - just back from U.S. - Virginia. Sister to Miss Fleming. After tea drove to Christiansted - met Mr Beatty.

Rain most of day - unpacking. Riding after tea - passed La Grange factory- Miss F. has an interest - V.Is. Co will cut in on their business badly - Landon leading in the Lit. Digest Poll.

Not feeling very well. In bed. Did some sorting of stamps. Dick out with Mr Beatty. Drive in aft. - up to dam - very pretty drive.
