the customs, so we all went down to the aduana to see what could be done. We finally got it out under our baggage allowance of $200.
Mrs Bailey drove us home and we had lunch at the Tavern. The food is very good and nicely served. Lunch is 50ยข - reasonable I think.
We were at first undecided whether we would stay in San Juan or try Ponce or Mayaguez. We finally decided on San Juan as our room will be only $34 a month, plus stove & dishes, and we can have at least two meals a day here. This should make our living reasonable enough. Last night (17th) we saw "Ladies in Love" - light and hard to understand the actors - with Janet Gaynor, Loretta Young & Constance Bennett. Both of us found that the screen bothered our eyes.

The most interesting news we have heard over the radio is the abdication of Edward VIII. His brother Albert will now be George VI (sounds queer!) and his queen will be Elizabeth. Wallie got her man, but not her king!
Dick is going to sell his motor here, and it seems he will get - or should expect
