Dear Helen & Ernest - 

I am back from Canada now - and wonder how you both are - The summer for me was quite wonderful until Sep 19th - when the two superb sons of the family with whom I live were drowned - I have been numb and speechless since that time.
I wonder if you would be good enough to send send the Kidder painting to me at once by Parcel Post registered - as I would like to show it and it may he place it awhile and thereby give tribute with fine ambition of Kidder.  I did [[?]] able painting myself of course & am preparing material for a book on painting and painters.  A splendid piece of publicity came to me in the Nation of last Saturday written by Marianne Moore in her review of the new Caravan book
