May 29 (Sunday) Visit of [[underlined in red]] Robert [[Brenicke?]] [[/underlined in red]] who is graduating of Cooper Union as B.S in electrical [[underlined in red]] engineering [[/underlined in red]] and wants to know what chances of future advancement there are for him with G. B. Co. [[strikethrough]] Advis [[/strikethrough]] Told him of demoralized situation of office to try to talk to Rossi or to get employment outside G. B. Co in [[underlined in red]] electrical lines. May 30 (Decoration Day). Spent all day [[underlined in red]] on board Ion, [[/underlined in red]] Lewis painting till 9 P.M. deck. Dr. [[underlined in red]] Cary Hutchinson [[/underlined in red]] came aboard for an hour in afternoon. Beautiful day
